So kiddies, what do we think of the first listen off the anticipated, still untitled LCD album coming out May 17 in the UK and May 18 in the US??  In an interview with Pitchfork, James Murphy explains a bit of the inspiration behind Drunk Girls, “[it's] about drunk people and fun things and the fact that all of the boys of the L.A. mansion we recorded at were called ‘the girls’ by our chef. We were the ladies of the mansion.”

Sooky sooky now.  I love finding out about secret shows even though they’re not really secret.  Erykah will be performing along with SpankRock, Tony Castles and MNDR.  The show is to celebrate Erykah’s forthcoming album, New Amerykah Part Two: Return of The Ankh, and will be at Good Units at 356 Hudson, under the Hudson Hotel.  You must buy tickets in advance, as they will not be for sale at the door.  BUY TIX.

Here we have a lovely display of  a damn good song; a dope beat (reminiscent of Talking Heads!!!!), thrown in with some Slim grooves and Santigold’s vocals, which all make for a song that I cannot stop bumping!  David Byrne and Fatboy Slim are coming out with an album, Here Lies Love, on April 6 so check out the video for their single Please Don’t.

Shiet, funk, damn.  I’m  a day late on this…The Black Keys have a new album, Brothers, coming out May 18 (released by Nonesuch).  Yippee!  Here’s a new single off the album, Tighten Up, which was produced by Danger Mouse.  I’m glad they linked up again for another hot joint since their last album together, Attack & Release, was an awesome success.  This song is hot!  Listen to the stream on The Black Keys’ MySpace page.

If it’s not known by now, I sweat Freeway. I mean really, how hot is his latest album The Stimulus Package?  Mmm hmmm, yeah a lot of it is due to the album solely being produced by Jake One.  But I dig Freeway’s non-overexherted flow.

For all those who didn’t purchase The Stimulus Package via iTunes, you were not graced with this bonus track called “African Drums.”  Good thing you came to this blog.  CHECKIT!

I like the sound of this upcoming release with Jay-Z and Jack White…even though I haven’t even heard the song yet.  I can totally see this hip-hop/rock collabo working way better than Jay-Z and Linkin Park.

In a recent interview with GQ (UK), White stated, “We did a song together a few weeks ago. It was incredible. I played him something that I’ve been kicking around for a while and he immediately came out with words for it. It’s unbelievable-sounding.”  Wow I am excited, but big talk needs a big walk.
